AIM-9000红外显微镜为岛津公司红外光谱产品60周年之际发布的一款全新力作，让“全自动红外显微分析”的理念更进一步。从观察，定义测量位置，到进行测量，再到鉴别结果的给出，红外显微分析所需的全部操作都能由仪器软硬件自动执行，同时提供高灵敏度的测试数据。
岛津独具匠心的在标准物镜之外，提供了大视野相机的选项。从而实现从宏观目视尺寸（10x13mm）到显微异物尺寸（30x40μm）的330倍连续放大，极大地提高了样品观察、定位的效率和可靠性。同时，基于数字图像识别算法的异物（测量）位置识别功能，让充满经验的专家系统在1秒钟之内帮助分析新手决定哪些位置才是需要进行测试的。
高速的XYZ三轴自动化样品台，为微小样品专门优化的高灵敏度MCT检测器，配合高性能的岛津红外光谱仪主机和高效光路系统，实现了多个样品的超快速自动测量。并能结合特征峰、光谱相似度和多变量分析等功能，实现高质量的红外光谱化学成像（mapping）。
对所测得的显微红外光谱数据，通过岛津独有的异物（混合物）分析程序，可以快速自动判断可能的主要成分和次要成分，而不需要用户预先知道具体的组分数量。让真正的自动化异物分析系统成为可能。
